Carrfour incorporated as a 501(c)2 non-profit organization by the Homeless Committed of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce

Carrfour Hires Maria Pellerin as organization's first President/CEO

Receives funding from Miami-Dade County

Receives funding from U.S. HUD

Aquires Rivermont Property

1995

Begin renovation of Rivermont

1996

Awarded $10 million from U.S. HUD. At that time, the largest HUD grant ever given to a non-profit organization

1997

Creates Transitional Affordable Housing (TAH) Program for 36 families in Homestead

Operating Budget $195,000

1998

Rivermont renovations completed and opens for 76 individuals. From the 76 units, 36 units are set aside for the disabled plus 15 units are designated for the elderly.

Homestead Transitional to Affordable Housing Program begins

Operating budget of $300,000

1999

South Dade Family Transitional Housing Program begins

Del Prado Gardens Opens for 32 families impacted by disabilities

2000

First group of families graduates from the Homestead Transitional to Affordable Housing Program

Wynwood Apartments opens and consists of 50 newly rehabilitated apartments for 50 single adults (41 small one-bedroom and 9 efficiencies)

Carrfour hosts Affordable Housing Conference

Carrfour awarded building bu Miami-Dade County - Villa Aurora. When renovations are completed, Villa Aurora will provide housing and supportive services for 14 hard-to-house families

Carrfour helps crete the Florida Supportive Housing Coalition and acts as a secretariat during it's formative years

U.S. HUD awards Carrfour $5.8 million for Little River Bend, Little Haiti Gateway, Sunsouth Place and Villa Aurora

The Florida Housing Finance Corporation awards $2.5 million for Little River Bend and Sunsouth Place

Enterprise Foundation presents Carrfour with First Palce MetLife Excellence Award in Affordable Housing

2003

Dedication of Little Haiti Gateway, 70 single units

Groundbreaking ceremony at Little River Bend

Currently operates a total of 293 units housing 565 residents, of which 250 are children

In development; 260 units to house an additional 392 residents

By end of 2005 plan to have a total of 653 units housing a total of 957 men, women and children

2004

Carrfour Supportive Housing & The Carlisle Group form a joint venture partnership to develop supportive housing in Miami-Dade and throughout Florida.

Dedication of Little River Bend 66 Units

Currently operates a total of 317 units housing 339 residents, of which 250 are children

In development; 367 units to house an additional 367 residents

What Could Be...

By end of 2004 plan to have a total of 653 units housing a total of 957 men, women and children
